First day in Kyoto

First day in Kyoto. We visited Kiyomizu Temple. 

We had a beautiful visit io the Peace Memorial Park, Sadako Monument and Peace Museum in Hiroshima this morning.  Here we are delivering the cranes made by Wilby HS students and Maloney alumni.

Day 1 in Hiroshima!

After a flight from Tokyo to Hiroshima, we headed to Miyajima Island by bus and then ferry.  There is a beautiful shrine on the island and lots of deer to see!

Arrived!

Everybody has arrived safely! Now we are all in our rooms. 6 more hours to get onto another flight to Hiroshima. I hope everybody can get some rest. Oyasuminasai!

Ready to Go!!

We are at the airport. The plane is delayed but we think we are leaving soon.  Some of thr kids have already been speaking Japanese and making new friends!

The group left from Maloney to JFK Airport. They are going to catch a flight to Haneda/Tokyo Airport. Kazumi-Sensei is waiting for them in Tokyo now!

One more day!

We leave tomorrow!  Are your bags packed?  Don't forget your passports!  What is the first thing you want to eat in Japan?  Jessica-sensei wants to have Meiji Almond chocolates!
