Itinerary

June 26th - Leave for Japan from JFK.  Fly to Haneda Airport in Tokyo.

June 27th - Arrive at Haneda Airport.  Sleep at airport hotel.

June 28th - Fly from Haneda to Hiroshima.  Visit Miyajima Shrine and the Peace Memorial Park and Museum.

June 29th - Travel on the bullet train to Kyoto. Do some afternoon sightseeing.   Eat a special Japanese dinner together (thank you to Maloney MixedBags fundraising!)

June 30th - Visit Kyoto sights by bus such as Kiyomizu Temple, Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion).  In the afternoon, go to Arashiyama (optional trip up to the Monkey Forest).

July 1st - Visit Nara's Todaiji Temple, Kasuga Shrine and see the deer!

July 2nd - Go from Kyoto to Nagoya by bullet train.  Visit Jimokuji Elementary School, visit a pottery making village, meet your host family and sleep over!

July 3rd - Visit Jimokuji Elementary School with your host sibling(s)!  Participate in calligraphy class and other regular school activities.  Have lunch at the school.  Leave for Tokyo in the afternoon.

July 4th - Full day sightseeing in Tokyo. We will discuss what sights to visit and organize together!

July 5th - Leave for the U.S. from Haneda airport.  Arrive at JFK at 6:35 PM on July 5th (we gain a day coming back :)
